     Assistant Preschool Teacher: SUNY Potsdam Child Care Center, Inc. invites applicants for an assistant in our Preschool 4 program area, which serves a maximum group size of 21 children, 4 and 5 years of age, with a 1:8 staff to child ratio. The hours will be scheduled according to the needs of the Center.

     Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Planning age-appropriate activities, maintaining an appropriate daily routine, maintaining positive parent/caregiver relationships, being a positive role model for parents and staff and working as a team player with the SPCCC administration and staff.

     Qualifications Required: H.S. Diploma and experience working with young children.

     Qualifications Preferred: B.A in Early Childhood or Childhood Education, A.A.S. in Early Childhood Education or CDA Credential in Preschool care with 2 years of experience working with preschool children. 

     Wages are commensurate with qualifications.

     Alternate Assistant / Floater: SUNY Potsdam Child Care Center, Inc. invites applicants for part time float staff in our program areas serving Infants, Toddlers, Preschool, and School-Age children. 

     Approximately 30 hours per week.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assisting in the implementation of age-appropriate activities, maintaining an appropriate daily routine, diaper changing, maintaining positive parent/caregiver relationships, being a positive role model for parents and staff and working as a team player with the SPCCC administration and staff.

    Qualifications Required: High School Diploma and experience working with young children.

     Cook’s Assistant: SUNY Potsdam Child Care Center, Inc. invites applicants for Cook’s Assistant on a part time basis. The position is for approximately 25 hours per week during the academic semesters and between semesters as long as enrollment warrants extra help in the kitchen.

     Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assisting the Cook with the documentation and preparation of breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack for up to 103 children, keeping track of children’s food allergies and preparing food substitutions, washing dishes and cleaning the kitchen to maintain Department of Health standards, setting up trays and delivering them to the classrooms, preparing vegetables, fruits, etc. to aid in the preparation of meals for our 7 different program areas, substituting for the Cook in the Cook’s absence, being a positive role model for parents and staff, and working as a team player with the SPCCC administration and staff.

     Qualifications Preferred: High School Diploma with experience working in a kitchen setting, familiarity with Department of Health regulations for working with food, and experience working around children.
