Dear Parents and Guardians,
On Thursday, October 29th, the children at SUNY Potsdam Child Care Center, Inc. will be participating in a mini “Dress Up” Parade (weather permitting). The children may bring in costumes, use funny/silly clothing from home, or choose not to dress up at all.
At approximately 10:00 a.m. our first group of teachers and children, from the Infant and Toddler 1 Rooms (seated in their red buggies), will begin by walking around the traffic circle: including our parent parking area, the staff parking area, and those parking spots in front of the DEC Building (closest to Outer Main Street). We will then proceed with each of the following groups in turn: Toddler 2 and Progressive, Preschool 3, and finally, Preschool 4.
Due to regulations concerning the pandemic, we ask that you remain in your vehicles during the parade. Therefore, you will want to park with the front of the car facing the traffic circle to be able to watch the parade. Please note, we will be refraining from holiday treats this year. Photos and/or videos are also discouraged as stated in our Parent Handbook (page 5).
If you prefer that your child not participate in this dress up parade, please let me know. SPCCC has planned fun themes to include every classroom during the same week: October 26th – October 30th. It will take place as follows:
– Hat day (children wear a silly or favorite hat)
– Stripes day (any and all stripes are welcome)
– Crazy Hair and Denim day (one or both, just for the fun of it)
– Dress Up Parade and Pajama day (children will be more comfortable after dressing up)
– Black and Orange day (any Fall colors will do)
Again, these activities are optional. Please do not feel pressured to participate. However, we hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.
